Free Photos – increase your chances of success by 450%
If you’ve already posted your ad on petsonthenet.co.nz, that’s an important first step. Another highly recommended way to help identify your pet quickly to potential finders/spotters, is to add a FREE photo as soon as possible. Our statistics show an amazing 450% improvement in the chances of finding your pet if you do have a photo on your ad, compared to those that do not.

Amending your ad - update your ad easily at no cost
You can quickly amend your notice any time there are any updates/changes. Just go to petsonthenet.co.nz Free Lost and Found ads, then click "modify/renew ad" and follow the easy prompts to make the changes.

Searching the database – a powerful tool
Our database is extremely searchable from the broadest to the finest of searches. Use the “Search” box for simple one word searches or use “Advanced Search” to really fine tune your search results. For example you can easily search for all black Persians found in Mt Roskill with a green collar and a red bell (….if you wanted to be that specific!) or just all black Persians found in Auckland or all cats that are black in NZ….It’s up to you. Searching our database is unlimited, available day and night and of course it’s free.

To search by region, just click "Advanced Search" then select the region you require from the drop down list, now your search will only be conducted in that region, not nationwide.

Checking petsonthenet.co.nz – how often and for how long should you check?
Please continue to search the relevant “Found Cat/Dog/Other” section very regularly, at least daily is recommended. As with placing your lost pet ad, there is no charge, no membership and no purchase required. It is all free and can be done 24 hours a day as often as you like. Pets can be missing for many weeks, even months before they turn up again. Please, don’t stop checking. Have a look at our “Success Stories” pages to give you extra inspiration and hope when you need a boost. We get loads of success stories every day that we don’t publish, so there are plenty of happy endings. The key thing is start the search and “campaign” sooner rather than later whilst the trail is still hot. Remember the onus is on you to search the database, rather than the finder, so do keep searching! See our other links below for important information and help on what to do next.
