You’d
think that bathing your dog is a necessity, and an evil one at that, so
why then are the dogs coming out of Nose to Tail Dog Wash not only looking
and smelling good, they’re feeling good?! And so are their humans!
Inside Nose to Tail’s bright environment you’ll find smiling faces all
round with happy relaxed dogs enjoying warm baths in their own private
cubicle as they are lovingly washed and massaged by their owners.
Kids are helping too with special kid sized bolsters so the whole family
can join in together. It’s clearly an enjoyable experience for the dogs
and for their people too as both parties enjoy hands on contact with their
“best friend”.
The humans who usually do the dreaded cleaning up “after the cleaning”
look pretty relaxed too. They know you can take as long (or short) a time
as you’d like to here having quality time with your dog. They know they
don’t have to go home to dirty wet towels or to struggle to clean a
hairy bath at home; not to mention the bathroom ceiling, walls and floors,
shake marks down the hall and sometimes…. heaven forbid…..the dog
again when they go out and roll in the nearest puddle! Their backs are not
sore from bending over because Nose to Tail’s baths are at an easy waist
height. The dog can now be washed on BOTH sides because you can actually
reach both sides properly and they probably smell better than you!
That’s all part of the no fuss facilities at Nose to Tail...
The “Mucky Pup” and “Hydro Pup” service provides delicious NZ made
Eco Pet shampoo with essential oils leaving your dog smelling of lavender,
cinnamon, lemon and ti tree or peppermint. And their coat is beautifully
dry as special doggie blow driers have forced the water out of the coat,
something your hair drier at home would struggle with!
Nose to Tail’s owner, Kathy Fitzpatrick has thought of every detail to
make this a no fuss, enjoyable experience for you both. Right down to
providing (non muddy!) artificial grass for those who must do the
obligatory “after-bath wet doggie roll on the grass” - without getting
dirty again!
”The beauty is that the owner is doing this so their dog has no fear and
is totally relaxed compared to being left with strangers at a grooming
parlour,” says Kathy. “With someone else a dog can be little bit
“iffy”.”
”Coordination of appointments with mobile groomers may be difficult too;
Auckland traffic problems may cause them, or you to miss appointments.
Whereas Nose to Tail is open 10am to 7 pm every day of the week except
Wednesday, so you just come in when you want to.”
After the first time in the warm water and with the massaging of the
shampoo, they turn into “pliable puppies” again. They bliss out!”
enthuses Kathy.
NZ's
only hydrotherapy pool for dogs
For an even more blissful experience or for dog recuperating from Crucia
ligaments, hip dysplasia or with arthritis, vets often recommend the hydro
therapy pool as the perfect answer. It is the only hydrotherapy pool for
dogs in NZ. The hydro pool is heated to a comfortable temperature; the dog
is harnessed and lowered gently into the warm water. A big jet of water
then allows them to swim against it in a no impact way, which is perfect
for dogs recovering from operations which mean they otherwise may not be
allowed to exercise for several weeks otherwise. |
