It has taken more than four months to be able
to even publish this e-memorial for my " Homey". He was so
unexpectedly ill and we had to suddenly make the terrible decision to help
him cross the rainbow bridge, before he started to really suffer from his
terminal illness.
He was like a bear, big, black and fluffy, big feet, big head with cute
little triangle ears and would head bunt you like a rugby team and just
about knock you off your feet. He purred like a tractor, real loud. Homer
was very gentle and physically very strong til the very last. He fought it
all the way, but he had suddenly got to a stage where he stopped being able to eat and I could not
let him starve...
It was devastating to lose our two beloved "fur children" in the
same year, the same way. Homer was 12 and Sammy 14...
Homer loved his mussels and has now gone on to Mussell Farm heaven.
He is so sadly missed by us all and four year old Kale who thought of
Homer as "his cat" and fed him etc. Both Homer and Sammy are
buried in our front yard, both get regular flowers...We are still not
ready to get another cat/s, though I also desperately miss their softness
and purrs. But it won't be them...
