Check our Flyer
Checklist and tips before you print out thousands of flyers and
then realise you forgot something critical!
Flyer Checklist
Flyers
don't need to be huge for mailbox drops, four to an A4 page is fine. That
way you also get four times as many flyers, saving on printing or
photocopying costs. It's just as effective and they're a lot easier to slip into mail boxes
and they don't
need folding.
For flyers to post in dairies, supermarkets or on fences, print some bigger A4 size flyers,
preferably colour and preferably laminated, so they can be more easily read at a
distance and will not tear apart in the first breeze. Whilst colour
fliers/posters will help identify your pet much
better, black and white is fine too. The main thing
is you DO THE FLIERS and then get out and deliver
them ASAP..!
Self service photo copying is
the cheapest and fastest option.
Heaps of pets have been reunited due to
fliers...this is a critical weapon in your arsenal
to help find your lost pet.
Your flyer should include...
(see below for a real example of a flyer)
Headline:
LOST cat, dog etc and breed
Where
lost from, street and suburb
Day,
date and time last seen if known.
Colour,
Male or female and if neutered.
Age
Basic distinctive
markings, description of any collars/ID being worn
Name
and phone number/s to contact you (include a landline AND mobile numbers).
If
there is a reward, state this.
Include a reference to
www.petsonthenet.co.nz. Include a "keyword" to
make it easy for people to bring up your ad. Choose
a special keyword that you will ALWAYS use in your
ad text, such as your pets name... An example of wording could be "See www.petsonthenet.co.nz
Keyword: Homer, for more information"
We recommend a keyword rather than using your ad
number. Your ad number could change for various
reasons and it's easier for a finder to remember a
keyword, than a number..)

LOST
Big
Black Fluffy Cat
Please
help us find Homer
Missing, from Lambeth Rd,
Sandringham (last seen Sunday afternoon 9 September).
Homer is a big black long haired neutered male adult cat.
He is a loyal, gentle and much loved family pet who never misses his
breakfast or dinner
- so he may be trapped in your garage, under your house, in a cupboard,
car, locked rooms etc.
Please check for him – he rarely meows so you wouldn’t hear him
necessarily.
Any
sightings, from this weekend, or subsequent, please advise us
Gavin or Kim on 555 5555 or mobile 025 123 456 – Thank you
"See www.petsonthenet.co.nz
keyword: Homer
for more information."
