About Beagles
Between 13 and 15" tall, tri colour, or lemon/tan and white, these fun-loving merry little hounds are
NOT for everyone..  Ten out of ten for energy, must be walked an hour a day and must have company, either another dog or someone around during the day and a yard that is fully fenced.  Focussed on
smells, their heads are down and vacuuming up everything in their path.  Diet must be carefully monitored.  DEFINITELY NOT SUITABLE FOR CONTROL FREAKS OR PEOPLE WITH ANGER MANAGEMENT PROBLEMS!!  Not a breed that can be left alone and expected to 'entertain' itself, which is why so many beagle owners have more than one.  Hound research is a definite must before even thinking about a beagle and a good vacuum as they drop white hairs all year around.  Be prepared to always walk your beagle on a lead as no guarantee yours will come back.

Gus the Beagle/Foxy X
Gus the Beagle Foxy XThis is 'Gus' known as 'Gussy' he is a Beagle x Fox-terrier. He is approx 11years old though he's quite small and still acts like a puppy. But his cute personality will make anyone fall for him. Unfortunately when we got him we didn't think of training him because he is in an enclosed backyard so the only trick he knows is 'sit'-----sometimes! But if we had of trained him from a puppy he would be a dream!

We feed him normal non expensive dog biscuits, we usually give him leftovers which he loves only vegetables, meat etc. We usually give Gus a walk a day if we're not busy but he gets about 5 walks a week, He has a huge enclosed backyard to play in so he gets a lot of exercise playing with my children (he never bites children but when he meets someone new or he's excited he does jump up). If a neighbour is doing their garden he loves woofing but if you play with him to distract him he calms down.

He loves playing with balls or toys that he chases around the garden, but he also has a blue long carpet from an old car that he drags wherever he sleeps! He has a funny and loving personality and I recommend foxy's or beagles or mix for a wonderful dog!
