Re-start your expired ad

Please re-start your ad if it is still required
If your ad has expired already, don't panic, we hold a copy of it for up to 90 days and you can easily re-start it.

We strongly encourage you to re-start your expired ad. For lost pets, we recommend you continue your ad for at least 6 months. Some pets have been reunited after more than two and a half years due to their petsonthenet ad, so please keep your ad going until the ad is resolved. Miracles happen often on this website and there is no time limit...

To re-start your expired ad
see a video demonstrating how to re-start your ad - with no sound, sorry!)
"small button image" Go to petsonthenet.co.nz/ads and click the "Login" link1
"small button image" Once logged in, click the "My Account" link
"small button image" Click the "My Expired Ads" link
"small button image" Select the ad you want to re-start from the list and click the "Manage This Ad" button
"small button image" Click the "copy to new listing" button Copy To New Listing. From here the process is the same as placing a whole new ad except the system has retained the text etc of your expired ad for you (saving you typing it out again). Unfortunately images and video are NOT saved, so you will need to upload them again during this process. Follow onscreen instructions through until you finally click the "post ad" button. An onscreen success message will confirm your ad is now posted.
"small button image" Try to renew your listing before it expires in future as the process is much simpler and faster than re-starting. To help you with this, we send an automatic expiry notice to you by email three days before any ad is due for expiration.

1 Forgot your password? Click the "Login" link and then click the "forgot password" button -  the system will email it to you automatically

Don't want an expiry notice every week?
For some ad types you can choose a longer ad duration so you get less expiry notices. To do this follow the instructions above about how to renew; after clicking the "renew button" just choose a longer duration for your ad i.e. 14 or 30 days.

Please note that for LOST PETS, we only allow seven day renewal option, as with thousands of lost pet ads posted each month it is critical that the lost pet listings be as up to date as possible. Otherwise our database would quickly become less user friendly if it were clogged up with potentially thousands of ads that were  no longer required. HOWEVER, in special circumstances where you will be unable to renew yourself ie going overseas or into hospital for a few weeks, contact us and we will manually extend your ad temporarily.
